Shrimp house from bamboo charcoal
I’ve got several bamboo charcoal tubes some time ago. I was thinking about getting a bamboo charcoal shrimps house or a cave that are always for sale on eBay. However, they were sold with moss and I was not sure that I liked look majority of them. So, I decided to find bamboo charcoal tubes and then create a shrimp house by my own. I’m still not sure whether I will put moss on it, but I definitely can.
Look at the pieces of bamboo charcoal I’ve good. Each of them was carefully covered in paper and all came in a good shape without any damage.
To be honest I expected that each piece of charcoal will have a form of tube. That will let me create a group-cave that I will be able to look through. Some tubes have a close end from one side. Well, although that will present me to look at shrimps in caves, the shrimps will feel even more secure and comfortable in there.
I’m planning to group bamboo charcoal in the following way.
Any real charcoal will suck minerals from the water and makes water softer. However, after several weeks in aquarium it should lose that ability and become inert a hiding place and decoration. Taking into account size of the bamboo charcoal, it should not change water chemistry too much.
