Alder cones PH experiment
After reading about people who use alder cones to lower their pH I decided to check how that work.
So, I’ve got an alder cone, placed into a plastic container with tap water.
I’ve let it be there for a week
Then I’ve tested the water.
Ph is 7.6, this is what I usually have from a tap.
I might have done something wrong.

Dude you have to pour boiling water over cones, let it cool down, then oh test it. Or pour it in your tank.
It’s an interesting suggestion. But adding alder cones to the tank is not the same as putting them into a boiled water. Cones will release less tannin and other chemicals in ordinary cold aquarium water.
